The Board is the foundation of Maison Liverani: an idea perfected. Built with end-grain construction, a juice groove on one side of the reversible design, recessed handles for solid grip, and rounded edges for comfort. All made from either maple or walnut, the two optimal hardwoods for boards. There won't be a second iteration or different version. The Board is made in one way, because we believe it's the only way worth making. That's a core belief behind everything we make: not more to choose from, just the one consummate piece.

Wood is a living material. It will settle and darken and deepen with time. That's why it lasts, and why it asks for a little in return. Caring for your board keeps the wood healthy and sealed, and improves it over the years. Almost no thought is needed: wash by hand, dry it standing, and oil it when the surface starts to look thirsty.

Maison Liverani operates on one single rule: make one version of each thing, and make it the best there is. We pour our hearts into every piece, so you can pour yours into every meal. The Board is our first piece: it works better, lasts longer, and feels great in the hand. More pieces will follow, each held to the same standard. Until we've created an entire kitchen that can be equipped from our single house.
